Cristina Paredes-Murrell

Cristina began working within the field of Education over 10 years ago, in her home country of Ecuador with a non-profit Family Math organization out of UC Berkeley called the SHARE Foundation. After completing her graduate degree in Education from CSU San Marcos, she served as the Director of Technology at a private middle school in Seattle for three years, in which she ran the IT Department and developed and taught interdisciplinary STEAM curriculum. Over the last five years, she has worked to develop her own educational company called Teachers Who TECH, in which she provides K-12 teacher professional development trainings and workshops, after-school STEAM programs for students and curriculum alignment. In her company, she has been able to work with students and teachers in public and private schools and collaborate with various non-profit organizations in the USA, Ecuador and China. Cristina also worked at a private bilingual British-Chinese school in Hangzhou China as Head of Technology, where she developed and taught a technology curriculum for over 700 students from first to tenth grade. Cristina’s passion about space exploration has opened new opportunities for her. In 2020, she started collaborating with the Mars Scholar Project in China creating space related e-learning projects which led her to be part of the founding team of MarsU, an academic and research organization focused on Mars exploration and settlement. Today, Cristina is very excited to joining SHS’s technology department as Academic Technology Coordinator for P-8 position. Finally, Cristina is on a mission to open an all-girls school focus on space exploration.
