CRISTINA STAR

Cristina is a multipotentialite on a mission to weave ancient wisdom into our space-faring future, informing “who we are” as we expand into the solar ecosystem. She works as a consultant, educator, writer, and academic in topics that span space exploration, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, ethical value-based business, transformative training, and human rights as framed through the lenses of menstrual activism and inclusivity.

Drawn to the questions that arise where fields intersect, Cristina earned her degree in Physics from UC Berkeley. Her scientific research has spanned River Biochemistry, Astrogeophysics (UC Berkeley), Isotope Geochemistry (Lawrence Berkeley National Labs), Climate Change (University of Michigan Space and Planetary Science Department), Observational Astronomy at Infrared Spatial Interferometer with Charles Townes PI (UCB Space Sciences Labs), Space Policy (American Military University), and she is published in the Astrophysical Journal

Star is a founding member of both the SETI Institute Council of Advisors and the Board Science Committee for the Institute of Noetic Sciences.

Integrating two decades of study and practice in Yoga and Buddhism, and seven years apprenticeship on the Lakota Red Road, Cristina founded and teaches at TRU Education, a mindfulness and emotional intelligence training company that incorporates these wisdom traditions with Positive Psychology for the modern adult. These programs awaken healthy values, unlock human potential, cultivate supportive community, and empower with tools to live balanced healthy lives in the modern world.

Star aims to cultivate a society that brings out the best in humanity, through nurturing inclusivity, healthy professional and educational environments, and the positive trend towards normalizing self-development, trauma awareness, and the growth mindset. Her most recent publication on menstrual activism is a collection of essays and practices in the book Reverence.

Her current work is aimed at developing programming for individuals in research and technology fields, as well as training the next generation of citizen astronauts. Her Space Policy Masters Thesis (in progress) is on sustainable and value-based business and economic models for commercial space companies, and her space blog explores these themes.
