Michaela Jill Murphy

Michaela Jill Murphy (aka Jessie Flower) is an American actress, singer, and writer often known for her voice work as Toph Beifong in Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender.

She began her career at 5 years old in community theater, then transitioned into professional acting through commercial work and soon found voiceover.

Her first VO job was recording additional voices in Finding Nemo! Other popular credits include additional voices in Over the Hedge, Brother Bear 2, Son of the Mask, Spider-Man 2, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never, as well as Chaca in Kronk’s New Groove/The Emperor’s New School and Young Franny in Meet the Robinsons.

Michaela continued acting professionally until the age of 13, then took a break after Avatar to focus on school (at the time she thought she wanted to be a surgeon) and went on to study at Yale University where she fell in love with screenwriting.

After graduating with a dual degree in Theater and Film with concentrations in writing, she moved to New York for a few years, where she acted in short films, sang with a cover band, and worked briefly in fashion.

During Covid, she moved back to Los Angeles to focus on screenwriting and voice acting again, recently voicing the English dub of Nasse in Platinum End, as well as a character in a video game that she can’t really talk about yet! She hopes to finish writing her first television pilot soon and start working more on camera.
